Graduate Program
Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Concentration in Biomedical Sciences; PhD
You will develop skills for research into the molecular and chemical basis of cellular function. Our students formulate modern research questions using contemporary instrumentation, classical skills, and bioinformatics approaches. Our graduates are accomplished in public presentations, high quality journal publication and competitive grant proposals. Research topics engage a broad range of cellular activities, from gene expression, to membrane alterations, to stress response, to development. Investigation focuses on the structure/function relationships of proteins, DNA, RNA, and lipids with roles in in obesity, infectious disease, Alzheimer’s, reproductive disorders and cancer.
